"Humans have the ability to shift perspective. We can experience the world through our senses. Or we can remove ourselves from our senses and experience the world even less directly. We can think about our life, rather than thinking in our life." John J. Emerick
We all experience life in perspective, our own...
Perspective is the frame of reference from which we sense, categorize, measure and codify our existence.
Think of this as the pair of eyeglasses through which we see things.
Your perspective determines your experience in life, not your circumstances, this means that most of your problems are in direct relation to how you've been choosing to look at the glass, half-empty or half-full...
This simple exercise will change your look on things
Close your eyes...
Relax, let your breathing slow down, notice it, allow yourself to deeply feel at ease, just pretend for the moment that everything is under your control.
You might find yourself thinking of a situation that's challenging to you at the moment and that's OK, let it be there, just continue to relax...
I know you're wondering what this has to do with how you can solve your problems and that's a good thing to wonder, it means that you're allowing yourself the possibility to learn and look at things in different ways.
As you continue breathing, paying attention to your respiration, you notice that your feel more relaxed which also slows down your respiration.
You feel deeply at ease as you also realize that you can look at circumstances from a distance and that you don't necessarily need to do anything, you can just let things come into view.
You understand how circumstances don't affect you, how you can respond to them in a way that's just right.
I'm not saying that problems go away but you could control your response to circumstances couldn't you?
We all have potential we are unaware of, and we usually don't know how it will be expressed.
Now, sooner or later you'll discover the ease with which you can change your perspective on things.
And you can also begin to discover other perspectives you could take now that could empower you to do many things.
Imagine, just imagine the possibilities if you were able to freely re-frame your perspective?
And you can, can't you?
It may take some practice at first, but if you keep on practicing then you'll soon discover that you can change your mind by changing your perspective.
